Laser_Ninja is making Tented Iris Cases
This is a split keyboard PCB sold on keeb.io. I have modified the original case design to allow tenting - angling the board for improved comfort and ergonomics.
The two most common methods are using an off the shelf bolt or an expensive ergodox kit, both of which are supported by the keebio cases.
My design however is minimalist and clean, using anodised aluminium parts which look great and are not that expensive.
They also allow for variable tenting angle interchangeable standoffs - the taller it is, the sharper the angle it will be.
And lastly, I offer several acrylic options that you can mix and match between the 3 levels of the case.
Ordering
The sale was closed in July with a few extras.
I will be opening it for sale with the next version of the Iris PCBs in early 2019.
These will be fully assembled so you just need to solder in switches. Other changes TBA.

Important note for buyers of my iris cases!
It has come to my attention that the right side of the case can be too tight due to the promicro being flipped the other way.
This can be solved by removing the plastic spacer so that the promicro sits closer to the PCB.

The right side of the Iris will have the connector facing the other way (away from the PCB and closest to the table).
You may need to apply some electrical tape (or similar) if the promicro is too close to the switches - please trim the switch pins down as much as possible.

FAQ
Why are the instructions in it's own bag?
This is to keep it as flat as possible and protect the sheet + stickers. If it was packaged with the iris case, the instructions and/or stickers would be creased and bent as the whole thing is wrapped.
I could fold it twice (instead of once) but I want to minimise the number of fold lines on the instruction sheet so it looks nicer (and it could still get creased on the corners, iris is not a rectangle).
Why is there so much packaging? (the zip lock/self seal bags)
Some parts need to be kept separate - the standoffs in particular will be bagged in 4 or 8 at most. The aluminium feet also need to be kept separate.
Screws and M2 standoffs are separate because it was easier to pack (some screws were 6mm and 8mm or different colours). Consolidating both into a single bag would have been better.
I've intentionally left branding and markings off most of the bags so that they can be reused. They are thicker and should last longer ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).
Why is there no tracking or insurance?
This will raise the cost of delivery by more than 2x. I decided to handle any losses or damage in transit myself because it would be very expensive or the company has a high $100 excess (the amount you pay for any claim). This $100 excess means I would lose money on some cases trying to claim it as lost or damaged..
An example - I charge $20 AUD delivery to the US but it would cost at least $48 to get tracking, signature on delivery and insurance. $48 delivery on a $52 case... not even worth offering.
I will investigate getting cheaper tracked and insured delivery in the future from DHL or TNT.
