Switch Tester Plates
This is what I recommend for beginners as it's the cheaper option.
The unit is a single 6mm thick acrylic plate, with a smooth frosted finish on both sides. Switches are pushed in and held with friction force. They can be pushed out from below, or wiggled out from above.
Choose your switches at the bottom, as many or as few as you would like. Blank DSA keycaps are available at 50c each.
The total price of a 12 slot 3x4 unit will be in the area of $30-40 depending. Delivery can be done via auspost letter at $2.50 - $3.50.

Advanced Switch Testers
These are solid fully enclosed units that hold switches in securely via a dedicated switch plate. They will simulate a keyboard better than the switch plate option, but keep in mind nothing will be the same as trying out a full keyboard with a particular switch.
I have some old stock still available, some unlisted so get in contact if you are looking for a particular size. New ones are being designed.
These units cannot be flat packed and will need to be sent via courier/parcel, which starts at $10.

Switch Modding Plates
Also known as 'lube stations' by other vendors, these tools are used to organise switches neatly as mod/lube them.
My design is made from premium 6mm frosted acrylic and features a spaced out grid layout so you don't bump into adjacent switches when closing them or applying films and other fiddly work.
High quality 3M bumpons are pre-applied to the unit, all you have to do is peel off the protective film and you're good to go.

Pricing: $1 per switch slot. For example, a 4x6 unit is $24, 6x8 is $48 etc.

Step 1. Choose your size/arrangement.
The width needs to be an even number for bumpon positioning reasons.
Step 2. Choose whether the switch holes are grippy or loose.
Defualt is grippy. This means switch are held in place with friction. Switches will not fall out on their own and you can use it as a switch tester! The difference with switch tester plates is these are spaced out more for ease of use, and have side tab cutouts to allow you to close the top housing down onto the switch.
Loose switch slots is available on request, no additional cost.
Step 3. Optional features if wanted.
- Stem slots: a cross shaped hole is added for each switch slot. This increases the overall size by 30% and so I charge an additional 30% on top of the base price. E.g. a 32 slot unit will be $32 + $9.60 = $41.60
- Brush holes: by default 3 holes are included in each plate. Let me know if you want them removed, or to customise the size/quantity/positioning. No extra charge.
Step 4. Choose delivery method.
- Auspost large letter - $3.50 for units up to 6x8 size.
- Courier - Starts at $10 for metro areas (no PO boxes). Auspost available on request.
